NOTEs:

Note: Whale and rainforest walk departs daily, however bear viewing is limited to specific days due to Tongass National Forest rules. Peak bear viewing occurs between the dates July 5 – Aug. 25.

Also note, the bear viewing tour is a wilderness oriented program designed to take you to where nomadic bears should be feeding at certain points of the summer. This is not the classic “viewing platform with bears fishing for salmon on a waterfall”. Sightings of bears are common, but not guaranteed. Participants must be capable of walking uneven ground; which also ensures you can gain closer proximity to feeding bears.

Alaska’s Whales and Brown Bear Tails
4 days and 3 nights

One of our most popular tours. Experience the abundant wildlife of South East Alaska by land and by sea on this exciting marine, land and air tour. Combine a unique marine exploration with an easy hike on a remote rainforest trail. View sea lions, orcas, humpback whales, porpoises, seals, sea birds, and more aboard an exploration vessel intentionally designed for up-close wildlife viewing. The next day travel by floatplane to Admiralty Island, the Fortress of the Bears, home to Alaska’s largest concentration of coastal brown bears.

Later, you will stretch your legs on a tranquil and secluded trail; the gentle path exhibits all the bounty of the forest: Its food, its medicine, its shelter and its ambience. Return to Juneau in late afternoon.
