Day 01 Arrive
Yellowknife, flight
to Blachford
Lake Lodge.
Fllight to Blachford Lake Lodge,
located 60 air miles outside of Yellowknife in the remote wilderness.
Located
at the west end of remote Blachford Lake, just north of the east arm of
Great Slave Lake, Blachford is a spacious, new, environmentally
friendly, post-and-beam log main lodge, with accommodations for 38
including 5 rustic, but comfortable log cabins and a main lodge with
full bathroom facilities. A BBQ, picnic area, open decks – even a
traditional 18’ tipi! - are available for various activities. In the
evening, guests can enjoy the sauna and outdoor jacuzzi hot tub. And
lodge meals are a sensuous affair sure to stimulate appetites for the

Days 02, 03 & 04 - Blachford

Explore the Blachford Lake Wilderness
In Winter:
Enjoy a snowmobile tour to a secluded island, a walk together on the
nature trails, or simply sit in the hot tub together with a glass of
your favourite wine. You can also try snowmobiling on your own, more
doglsedding, ice-fishing and of course, Northern Lights viewing in the
evening...sightings are virtually guaranteed! Note: an optional 1 night
overnight guided dog sledding tour has been included. Guests will stay
in heated, expedition-style tents and end the evening in front of a
roaring fire, with Northern Lights soaring overhead.
In Summer:
Guests can enjoy a boat tour to a secluded island, a walk together on
the nature trails, try canoeing or kayaking or simply sit in the hot
tub together with a glass of your favourite wine. World-class sport
fishing and even Northern Lights viewing is possible beginning in
mid-August. Note: an optional 1 night overnight guided boat tour has
been included. Couples will stay in heated, expedition-style tents and
end the evening in front of a roaring fire, under the Midnight Sun.
Day 05 - Blachford

Return
evening is free to explore the Diamond Capital. Located on the shores
of the beautiful Great Slave Lake, only 512 km south of the Arctic
Circle, Yellowknife is known for its outdoor recreation, midnight sun,
aurora borealis and an unusual blend of northern culture... where
history is found throughout a modern, bustling city. Overlooking Niven
Lake and Back Bay to the north and Frame Lake and the Legislative
Assembly to the south, spectacular views await from your Executive
Suite at the Explorer Hotel.
Day 06
Return transfer to airport, flights home. Flight departs to southern Canada and onwards. End.
