Spring Gray Whale Viewing
4 days and 3 nights: Daily March24 – May 4, 2007

Witness the amazing annual spring migration of 20,000 California Gray Whales, traveling over 5,000 miles from Baja California to the nutrient rich waters of Alaska’s Bering Sea, from a front row seat as these magnificent mammals pass by the mouth of Resurrection Bay. 2006 is reported to have been an excellent year for calves meaning there will be plenty of young whales travelling with the pods in the years to come.

Travel Itinerary:

Day 01 - Seward
Check into hotel. Visit the Sea Life Centre or travel to Exit Glacier, the only road-accessible part of Kenai Fjords Park.
Hotel: Edgewater

Day 02 - Seward
Board the tour vessel and spend the day observing the magnificent Gray Whales -the only whales without dorsal fins. Watch for their bushy, heart-shaped blow rising up to 13 feet in the air.

Day 03 - Seward
Join the vessel once again and head out into the Bay for more close-up encounters. While they are in the Northern waters, the gray whales are very active; continually feeding, mostly on tiny, shrimp-like amphipods.

Day 04 - Seward
Tour ends with hotel check out.
